Selenium from a natural source in the form of L-selenomethionine or Se-Met – a natural amino acid that, compared to other forms of selenium, is absorbed much more easily and remains in the body longer. The composition of Selenium (L-selenomethionine) is ISURA certified, which guarantees the absence of GMOs, pesticides, solvents, etc.! With a certificate from GFCO that it does not contain gluten. With NPN (Natural Product Number) designation – licensed and assessed as safe, effective and of high quality by Health Canada!

L-selenomethionine has a small molecular size, making it non-allergenic or immunogenic, making it an ideal option for people with autoimmune diseases, including Hashimoto's thyroiditis, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and more.

How does Selenium (L-selenomethionine) work:

Powerful antioxidant!
Stimulates thyroid function.
Regulates the immune system and provides protection against bacteria and viruses.
Regulates hormonal synthesis and the production of prostaglandins – biologically active substances with an important role in a number of processes.
It benefits eyesight.
Helps maintain the normal condition of the prostate.
Contributes to reducing the risk of atherosclerosis and dyslipidemia (disorders in fat metabolism and high levels of cholesterol and triglycerides).
Provides benefits when taking cholesterol-lowering medications, including statins or fibrates. Statin treatment is one of the most common pharmacological causes of selenium deficiency. Therefore, if you are taking statins, you should also get selenium, in order to prevent atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction and rhabdomyolysis. With fibrates, this risk is lower, but their long-term use also reduces selenium stores by mechanisms that are not yet clear.

Selenium is essential for the production of the important antioxidant, glutathione peroxidase. Selenium prevents oxidation and thus protects cells and tissues from dangerous free radicals.

Selenium deficiency reduces the activity of selenium-dependent enzymes, leading to various functional disorders, including skeletal muscle dysfunction, cardiovascular disorders, liver problems, increased capillary permeability, pancreatic degeneration, etc.

Subacute and mild selenium deficiency is characterized by fatigue, hair loss, memory impairment, discoloration of nails and skin, decreased general immunity and impaired fertility in women. Symptoms may be exacerbated in asthmatics. Since selenium is a necessary component for the conversion of the thyroid hormone T4 into its more active form – T3 (triiodothyronine), the symptoms often coincide with those of hypothyroidism – slowed metabolism, hoarse voice, rough skin, goiter, even cretinism and mental retardation in severe forms.

Method of administration:
1 capsule daily with food.
